Bullitt Lick Baptist Church is an elder-led congregational church. Yes, we are Baptist. Yes, we are congregational. Yes, we have elders. Eldership is not a “denominational” term, it is a biblical term. The New Testament teaches that elders (synonomous word for pastor or overseer) are those men whom God places within the Church to primarily govern/lead and teach. Currently, Bullitt Lick has three elders. We also understand the role of deacon to be that of a servant. Thus, our deacon body consists of men who are responsible for sustaining the ministries of Bullitt Lick. As the elders equip the body for ministry, the deacons are to ensure that the ministry flourishes.
